This came during a meeting held today between His Excellency Mr. Ibrahim Yousef Fakhro, Director of the Protocol Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and His Excellency Mr. Ali Saleh Abadi, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the State of Qatar. The Ministry explained that this decision comes in response to Iran's repeated targeting and blatant aggression against the State of Qatar, which violated its sovereignty and security, in flagrant violation of the principles of international law, UN Security Council Resolution 2817, and the principles of good neighborliness. The Ministry stressed that if the Iranian side continues this hostile approach, the State of Qatar will take further measures to ensure the protection of its sovereignty, security, and national interests. The Ministry affirmed that the State of Qatar reserves its right to take all necessary measures to protect its sovereignty and security, in accordance with the provisions of international law.’
