German Ministry reportedly wants to eliminate a tax advantage for the postal service (DHL GY), reports Handelsblatt

News detail

Deutsche Post is facing the loss of a tax advantage. According to a draft law from the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy, the Bonn-based logistics company will have to pay value-added tax (VAT) on business mail that it receives from other companies and forwards. Currently, Deutsche Post is exempt from VAT as a so-called universal service provider, but this is set to change in this segment.
