If Iran insists on closing the Strait of Hormuz, the blockade will remain firmly in place. Iran deal could happen today, tomorrow or next week. Number 1 condition is that the Strait of Hormuz is now open. Iran has to announce very clearly that the Strait is now open. Iran has laid mines across much of the Strait of Hormuz. Iran has also committed to specific negotiations on the disposition of highly enriched uranium. Any sanctions relief is condition-based. Iran will not get sanctions relief just for reopening the Strait of Hormuz.
