Sanofi (SAN FP) Japan announced on the 21st that it would postpone the launch of its high-dose influenza vaccine for the elderly, "Efluerda.", reports Nikkei

It was planned to be included in the routine vaccination schedule for those aged 75 and over from October 1st, but its introduction this fall has been postponed. Initially, a launch around fall was anticipated. Sanofi Japan explained that "establishing and verifying some manufacturing processes at our domestic contract manufacturer is taking longer than expected," adding that "this will not affect its effectiveness or safety." There will be no impact on Efluerda supplied outside of Japan. Efluerda is an influenza preventative vaccine approved in Japan for those aged 60 and over in 2024.
