Iranian and Omani negotiators are trying to reach an agreement to restart shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, which would then enable Tehran and the US to resume talks over ending the war, Bloomberg reports

Omani negotiators are optimistic they’ll be able to make an announcement signalling progress in the next few days, the sources say, adding there’s no guarantee that’ll happen given the situation is highly volatile.  One proposal is to reopen the strait’s so-called middle passage, said two of the people. However, it likely contains sea mines placed by Iran.
