AstraZeneca (AZN LN) - Co. announces that it is discontinuing the eVOLVE-Lung02 Phase 3 trial evaluating volrustomig in combination with chemotherapy as a 1st-line therapy, based on the recommendation of the IDMC following a planned review of trial data. The IDMC concluded that the volrustomig combination was unlikely to meet either of the dual primary endpoints of progression-free survival or overall survival. In other news, its Enhertu demonstrated statistically significant and clinically meaningful improvement in progression-free survival as 1st-line treatment of patients with HER2-mutant advanced non-small cell lung cancer in DESTINY-Lung04 Phase III trial.
