Trump asked to take a "few days" to think about it. "The president relayed to the mediators that he wants a couple of days to think about it". US officials said the deal terms were mostly agreed as of Tuesday, but both sides still needed to get approval from senior leadership, Axios says. The MOU would see the US lift its naval blockade in line with the restoration of commercial shipping, while Iran would commit not to pursue a nuclear weapon. The US officials said the 60-day MOU will state that shipping through the Strait of Hormuz will be "unrestricted."  A US official said this means no tolls and no harassment, and that Iran will have to remove all mines from the strait within 30 days. Initial 60-day talks would focus on Iran’s highly enriched uranium, enrichment activity, sanctions relief, frozen funds, and mechanisms for humanitarian aid. Axios notes that Trump and his advisers thought they were close to a deal several times at earlier stages in the war, but none materialised.
