News detail
13:15BST/08:15EDT: Fed’s Williams (voter) will give an interview to CNBC. Speaking in August, Williams said current rate policy remains “well positioned” to bring inflation back to 2%, though the Fed would act if the economy is not on a trajectory toward that target. He strongly supported the FOMC’s decision to hold rates steady in July, and expects inflation to decline in H2 of this year, and further next year as Middle East-related pressures cool. Williams said market pricing does not bind Fed policy, and added that he saw no financial-stability risks from AI investment.
