EU Commissioner Sefcovic today's discussions with China's Foreign Minister Wang Yi were intensive, focused and constructive

Sefcovic says: Objective has been to start balancing trade between EU and China. Status quo is not an option. EU remains open for business, but needs to defend industrial base and keep pushing for a level playing field globally. Identified four strands: Trade and investment balancing, export controls, IP rights, and WTO reform. Thinks that between now and October, teams have sufficient time to deliver tangible results.
