Splendid. Let's greet our passengers. Welcome aboard the Starship Robinhood. For many of you, this is not your first voyage with us, is it? We began our mission over 13 years ago. Who's been traveling with us for more than 5 of those years? Okay. Who here is at their first HOOD Summit? Okay. A lot of trainees. Well, this is going to be a very exciting one. First things first, let me tell you a little bit about the ship. Our engineers have been busy making a lot of improvements. I'm going to start by reviewing those before we get to tonight's big announcements, and they are big. Why don't we begin with our 24-hour market? Which, of course, we're very proud of.
We built it to be the best in the galaxy, as well as one of the first with 24/5 operations from 8:00 P.M. Sunday to 8:00 P.M. Friday, Eastern Time. We asked ourselves, "Can we do even better than 24/5?" Eleanor, what do you think?
I think we can, Captain.
All right, let's see it.
Let's take a look at the screen. What do all these headlines have in common? For one thing, they all move the market, but more importantly, every one of these stories broke on the weekend when the market was closed and no one could trade. By the time Monday's open came around, it was already too late, and the move already had happened. Whatever edge existed reactive first was gone, and no one could place an order. We've been working for several years fighting the fight. We're working with exchanges and commissions to fix this, and I'm excited to announce that the battle is over. The rails are laid, and something never before available in the U.S. is on its way. Coming soon, our 24/5 stock market will be upgraded to a 24/7 groundbreaking market.
Pretty good. Pretty big. Pretty good, right?
Yes, weekend trading for native equities is here. This is a historical shift from working hours to living hours. How many of you have wanted to trade on a Saturday or a Sunday?
Wow. A lot of people.
Saturday especially. Saturday, right? Because we want to give you access first.
You should be able to trade the stocks you want when you want.
Ever since my younger days as a cadet at the academy, I've dreamed of equity markets going truly 24/7, and I'm proud that the Starship Robinhood is the first one to make this dream a reality.
Well done, Eleanor. Thank you, Captain.
You know we didn't stop there. We know some of our passengers are early risers and would like to have more breakfast options. So for the morning people out there who like to read the news and look for the market signals before the bell, we've also been working hard to get you to the table before everyone else. So we're also announcing extended options trading for our most traded symbols, including Nvidia, Tesla, SPY, and QQQ.
That's a good one. Starting next month, trading will start at 7:30 A.M. and end at 4:15 P.M.
That's a 35% increase in our options hours previously available. Captain, what do you think about that?
